I assume most, if not all of you, watched the CTV W5 program on Dr Zamboni's breakthrough research which has shown that impaired venous drainage from the brain (CCSVI) is a key part of the MS disease process. Dr Zamboni recently published a paper on the results of vascular procedures which relieved the venous problems in 65 persons with MS. This paper is attached.

Direct-MS sees that the sooner a proper trial of the efficacy of the relief of venous drainage is done the better. For this to happen, it is essential that a large study establishes that CCSVI is definitely a key part of MS. Such a study is presently ongoing at the University of Buffalo. They are raising money to ensure the study gets done as soon as possible.

Direct-MS has committed $75,000 to this study and we urge everyone to provide as much support as they can. This can be done by sending money directly to the University of Buffalo. Their brochure which explains the project and how money can be donated is attached.

Alternately, you can send a contribution to Direct-MS (5119 Brockington Rd NW, Calgary, AB, Canada, T2L 1R7) and mark on the cheque that the money is for the Buffalo project. We will send you a tax receipt and will ensure that every penny goes to Buffalo. We will also send the Buffalo researchers a list of names of all those who contributed through Direct-MS.

We hope you see the need to support this project as much as possible. We are hopeful that one or more of the Buffalo researchers will come to Calgary next spring and present on CCSVI and preliminary results of their studies. If they do we will webcast such a presentation for everyone to view.
