It is being done at the University of Iowa under the direction of Dr Terry Wahls. Direct-MS is providing the funding for the study. There is no doubt that everyone with MS needs to be tested and treated for CCSVI ASAP. To ensure no progression it is wise to employing various strategies with exercise and nutrition at the top of the list. Many other therapies are also available and are all nicely described in a great new book by Judy Graham, entitled Managing Multiple Sclerosis Naturally. I highly recommend this book and it is available on Amazon.

Just back from Katowice, Poland where Dr Simka and his team treated my son for CCSVI. He had a severe blockage in his left jugular and a partial blockage in his right one. Both veins were opened and normal flow established with angioplasty. Dr Simka has tested over 600 patients and found that 97% had CCSVI which needed to be treated.

DIRECT-MS will match up to $150,000, donated by 12/31/10 to University at Buffalo PREMISE CCSVI Treatment Trial. PREMISE will evaluate the effectiveness of angioplasty for CCSVI. Thirty MS patients will have selective venography followed by a balloon angioplasty procedure. Study testing will include Doppler ultrasound, MRV, neurological examinations, CT perfusion of the head, questionnaires and blood draws.
