T. Jock Murray is busy attacking the new Canadian science minister's position on research for CCSVI. Yet this so-called "MS expert" does not even understand the vascular connection to MS. His book, "MS The History of a Disease", spends a scant 2 pages on vascular research and is full of mis-information. He describes Putnam's scientific experiments as involving the "carotid arteries" of animals. This is simply not true, Putnam's work was on the venous side, blocking the dural sinus in dogs. Murray states in his book that the lesions Putnam created didn't look like MS lesions. This is false. Putnam wrote about his observation, “The similarity between such lesions [in dogs] and many of those seen in cases of multiple sclerosis in man is so striking that the conclusion appears almost inevitable that venular obstruction is the essential immediate antecedent to the formation of typical sclerotic plaques.” Venular means related to the VEINS. Does this doctor not understand the difference between arteries and veins???

Recent research into the newly discovered lymphatic vessels have proven that the CNS immune system flows through the dural sinus and veins exiting the brain. This is the exact same area Putnam studied, which Dr. Zamboni has been insisting we study. How can we move MS research forward, when there is such willful misinformation and amnesia in the "expert" medical community? Perhaps Dr. Murray needs to stop talking about things he doesn't comprehend. Dr. Kirsty Duncan will bring real scientific exploration to Canada. TRUE scientific research, not opinion or turf protection. And she knows the difference between veins and arteries. Joan
