CCSVI in Multiple Sclerosis
New research from our friend, endothelial specialist Dr. John Cooke. Drugs used to treat heartburn and GERD, called proton pump inhibitors (like Nexium) damage and age endothelial cells lining blood vessels. These PPI drugs are linked to increased risk of heart attack and dementia in long term users. Not good for healthy cerebral blood flow. #HeartBrainConnection Chronic use of some drugs for heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) speeds up the aging of blood vessels. This accelerated aging in humans could lead to increased cardiovascular disease, vascular dementia and renal failure, say researchers.
