People with MS have different blood than normal people. There is platelet activation and higher levels of platelet microparticles in pwMS. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28210898
Why does this happen? When platelets travel through healthy vessels with a healthy endothelium, platelets also remain healthy and unactivated. But when platelets encounter a break in the endothelium, due to endothelial cell death and dysfunction, they begin to stick together, activating the coagulation cascade and slowing blood flow. Learn more here: https://courses.washington.edu/conj/bloodcells/platelets.htm Healing the endothelium will calm down platelet activation. #HeartBrainConnection
