On the first anniversary of CCSVI in MS Toronto WaYnE, I just had to mark this day on my calendar.
It was a year ago you created this page to help people and their families stricken with MS gather information on CCSVI.
Well 1 year later I can tell you that I think we have been more than just an information page or a grocery store of CCSVI information as I often call it. It was 1 year ago I found you and your page through my friend in Norway and was amazed at the information you were sharing that week end.
You introduced us to Irish Bear 76 by posting his video. I wrote a comment on his video January 23,2010 and you were so touched by the comment you sent me an email. The next day you tracked me down through a telephone search and boy did we laugh and cry that day. I will always remember my friend Astrid Berit as being the 72nd person to join the group and me being #76 in your group. Little did I know what 2010 was going to bring to us and so many around the world. In 2011 we are at close to 3000 members and thousands more just lurking and watching the page including most probably Dr. Zamboni himself.
In our conversation that day I remember you saying to me that you couldn't believe how the center of Canada (Toronto) with all its media outlets was not part of the Facebook movement that was happening. There were pages from Calgary, Nova Scotia, Vancouver, BC, etc. but none from Ontario or Toronto. I had been stricken with MS had turned to the internet for information concerning CCSVI since the broadcast of W5 November 21,2009 and was desperate for information. You had asked me to be a co-admin of the page as you wanted someone with MS to share what they were going through. You told me your connection and I was very moved by this and got on board for the ride of my life I never expected to turn out this way.
I had found Dr. Sandy McDonald through the page and 2 days later I was having my first ultrasound done. 2 days later the results came in to start my personal journey and the same journey for so many who would undertake thanks to your sharing of information CCSVI is now shown and confirmed. I had the appointment booked and connected personally with someone from the page that saw the same. Results were in hand from Barrie the same week. Now there is a minimum 6 month waiting period, my how things have changed.
Later that week Dr. Zamboni was attending a conference in Hamilton On and I got the chance to meet Dr. Zamboni that I will never forget and it was your support and pushing me to have this happen. You had said "Jamie you have to go even if you just get to wave at the man in a taxi cab that will change your life" I attended the conference and next thing I knew I was doing TV interviews for the CBC as they had seen I had attended the conference. I was put on the news program Connect with Mark Kelly and we were off to the promised land about spreading the word of liberation through the internet.
I also remember attending the Neuro conference in Toronto in April as being a highpoint or lowpoint pending where you look at it, and I had asked "do you want a souvenir"? All you wanted was a bag. Well I think the mission got accomplished and then some. We have been through so much since that day 1 year ago January
WaYnE I can go on and on but as you know it's never been a story about me but rather everyone out there that was not getting information from their Neurologists. As in my case my Neuro put the Zamboni Protocol which you gave me in the garbage. I as many other MS'ers were going through the same ordeal and needed help.
Well I think it has been accomplished and then some. The MS world is at close to 10,000 liberations performed, how many friend connections have been made is impossible to calculate but I do know 1 thing for certain is CCSVI has not been put in the garbage or on a shelf or in a file in a file cabinet and never will. A quality of life is back and a possibility for so many. Marriages have been saved, children have their Mommies and Daddies back, Brothers and Sisters have their Siblings back, there is no price or $ amount that can be put on that.
We have shared many tears, many laughs, but most importantly we have shared information with so many from around the world and CCSVI in MS page. I remember how you helped me with my typing skills correcting my typo's and I think I've gotten much better. I will never forget in 1 of our lowest days you saying" I am just a man sitting behind a computer screen what can I do to help?" Well I can tell you for that man sitting behind a computer screen, he can't imagine how much he has touched and helped the lives of thousands around the world and how lucky I am to have been part of History and for people to share in a new life.
