ACP 24th Congress Keynote Speaker: Dr. Paolo Zamboni
[San Leandro, CA] – The American College of Phlebology’s (ACP) keynote speaker will be Paolo Zamboni, Professor of Medicine at the University of Ferrara in Italy. Dr. Zamboni has pioneered the concept of Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCVI) and its role in Multiple Sclerosis. The concept of cerebral venous obstruction causing tissue damage in the brain similar to the way it causes tissue damage in the lower extremities is a completely novel approach to MS research which could be a “sea change” in the understanding and treatment of this condition.
Dr. Melvin Rosenblatt, ACP Congress Chairman, stated: “This work is remarkably innovative and offers hope to those afflicted with this difficult to treat illness.”
The ACP’s 24th Annual Congress will be held November 4 – 7, 2010, at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. The ACP Congress program will meet the educational needs of both the expert and novice phlebologist and those interested in vein care. Nationally and internationally recognized experts will present the latest advancements and technologies for the study and treatment of venous and lymphatic disease. The ACP is the only provider specializing in the field of phlebology that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) who can directly sponsor continuing medical education activities for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. A full program can be found at www.acpcongress.org.
