I sent the following e-mail about 5 minutes ago to Winnipeg Free Press reporter Larry Kusch, I also sent it to several interested parties. Eventually their stone wall will crumble.

Interesting words. Play down the "some reported success stories" and end it with "we "know" for some people that hasn't worked." That play on words is meant to give the impression that the MS Society knows that this procedure does not work in most cases. Did you ask her what the ratio was between successes and failures? Did you ask her how many people that have had the treatment does she know personally and how many she interviewed about their stories? What is her measure of success? Those questions would be relevant to the goal of her comments.

And here we go again with the "safe" word. Tell me something. How do they assure that anyone that is having an angioplasty is safe? She seems to think that angioplasty procedures are very dangerous. That lives may be at risk if there are angioplasty procedures. I agree. Stop them all while this new study is done. Obviously the Neurologists are the experts on angioplasty and we need them to study the procedure and tell us if it is safe. Ask yourself this, "Why are the MS Society and the Neurologists so against a procedure that has nothing to do with them?" This is a vascular issue. Blocked vein or artery? Open it. It is a no-brainer - at least for some. I guess they are afraid of something. Wonder what that is?

It is obvious to many of us where the MS Society stands. It is definitely not on the side of the MS sufferers.

"Meanwhile, Wendy O’Malley, president of the Manitoba division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, said while there have been some reported success stories involving the liberation treatment, "we know for some people that it hasn’t worked."

She said that while she applauds Saskatchewan’s initiative, there is no reason to say that Manitoba’s approach places it behind its neighbour in achieving results for patients. That’s because no one can proceed with clinical trials until researchers are assured that they are safe, she said."
