I mentioned on one of my previous posts that I work with a Canadian medical travel company, International Health Care Providers (IHP). IHP, founded in 2005 by Kelly Meloche, is a small but very quality-oriented company located in Windsor, Ontario. We have researched options for MS patients interested in CCSVI research for some time.

IHP has now partnered with one of the foremost centers in the world in CCSVI testing and research and is now able to offer one of North America’s most comprehensive CCSVI evaluation programs.

I am aware that many are jumping on the lucrative CCSVI bandwagon and offering diagnostic evaluation to MS patients. Many of these evaluations are based only upon one or two scans read by radiologists with limited experience in interpreting the subtle vascular changes in MS. IHP has partnered with a U.S. center performing and publishing the definitive studies on the role of CCSVI in MS. The center is now offering its full diagnostic evaluation on a fee-for-service basis to Canadian patients through IHP.

An initial application form collects details about the patient’s disease history and health background, providing an overview of the patient’s history and ensuring that all patients are safe to undergo the testing associated with CCSVI evaluation. Patients then undergo a comprehensive evaluation including venous Doppler studies, magnetic resonance venography, magnetic resonance imaging with evaluation of cerebral iron, and clinical and neuropsychological evaluations. This is one of the most sophisticated CCSVI evaluation protocols available today. After completing this evaluation, which is part of a major research study, patients receive a comprehensive summary report prepared by a physician.

Further information is available by contacting IHP by telephone at 1-866-227-8402 and on IHP’s web site at www.ihcproviders.com.
