Carol Prest has posted a really good video interview on our ccsvi FB page. It's with Dr. Sclafani, Professor and Chairman of Radiology at a college in Brooklyn. Dr. Sclafani explains that we're still in early

days regarding ccsvi and its connection to MS. He also says that the

many research projects taking place around the world are important to

guide us on treating ccsvi.

One of the much talked about issues since the Alberta Government's announcement to do a study is the length of time to conduct the studies,

i.e. 3 years for Alberta's observational study and then an undetermined

number of years for a clinical trial. It is our hope that it will not

take 3 years to complete the observational study. Dr. Feasby, who is

leading the study, acknowledged that it could take less than 3 years as

new research becomes available. We will be pressuring the Alberta

Government to examine new research that could help provide the evidence

we are looking for and expedite the process of moving to a clinical

trial. As a member of the Alberta Government's MS Connector Services

Working Group, we will meet regularly with the Minister of Health to

discuss progress being made on ccsvi. This working group is also working

on the creation of a Provincial MS Strategy to eliminate gaps in

services for Albertans living with MS.
