As I commented on Lorin Powell's blog earlier today,   I have written the following to the Hon Leona Aglukkaq:

............................................................................................................................................................................

Dear Minister,   re M.S. & C.C.S.V.I.

I refer to my letter of December 6/2010,  and although I have not received your reply as yet (I appreciate that you are a busy person in a position that demands a great deal of your time),  I am writing to keep the issue of CCSVI treatment on your agenda.

Your letter dated November 29/2010 ended with your statement...

"I am committed to doing everything I can to accelerate progress in this area"....

So my letter to you now is to prompt you into actually taking some action,  to commit to making something happen.  With the start of a New Year,   the start of a new session of Parliament,   now would be the appropriate time to resolve to set an agenda to get CCSVI testing and treatment to the M.S. patients in Canada:  to over-rule the inane recommendations of the C.I.H.R.,   to recognize the futility of the so-called "trials" the M.S. Society is wasting Canadian donations on,  and to do what is right by allowing people with M.S. the ability to get their veins checked and opened.

As I stated in my previous letters to you,  without the "M.S." label,  I and other Canadians would be entitled under the Canada Health Act to receive diagnostic testing for vein blockages,   I and other Canadians would be entitled to having venogram treatment to open any blockages.    Because I have this label of "M.S.",  I am not entitled to receive the testing and treatment.   WHY ?

Please put this issue on your agenda and let's get this issue resolved in 2011.

I look forward to your response,  thank you.

As I said in Lorin's blog,  we need as many letters as possible to go to our Health Minister:  I would again ask all CCSVI locator Members (and I see there's 4901 of us) to try and get a letter off to Min Aglukkaq;  they don't need to be long letters,  just something short and too the point  -  it's a New Year,  "resolve" to get CCSVI testing and treatment completed in 2011,  do the right thing for Canadians with MS.   She's at:

Government of Canada,   Brooke Claxton Building, Tunney's Pasture,  Postal Locator 0906C, OTAWA, K1A 0K9

Ask yourself,  what would your reaction be if you got 4,900 letters all asking you to do something ???
