Seeing as others have posted details about their treatment in Sofia Bulgaria, I thought I'd add mine as well. The Tokuda hospital was fabulous and so efficiently run. The doctors are fantastic and the staff are always there for you if you need anything!! My jugs were stenosed 80% on the left, 60% on the right, and 70% in the azygous, which surprised me a little! I heard the rice krispie noise (crackle & pop) in my veins like others mentioned and that was a very positive sound! The azygous was the only vein where I felt a little discomfort but certainly can't complain that it was painful.

The Park Inn Hotel was a marvelous place to share with all the other Canadians and provide encouragement  and support. I met some very lovely people and we hope to keep in touch.

My improvements are small, but mainly I notice a remarkable improvement in my fine motor skills, which is wonderful. I have warm hands and feet (most of the time) and I'm told my voice is stronger....not necessarily a good thing!! I'm holding out for better balance and a disappearance of my drop foot, but I'm being realistic about how much better I will get. After 40 years of damage, a body can only heal so much!!

I'm very, very glad I experienced my treatment and going to Bulgaria was a bonus. Wonderful place to soak up some history and savour the Bulgarian life!!
