CogFog is a mystery to those who do not have it.
After CCSVI, I tried to tell all who would listen about the lifting of CogFog. The universe grinned and nodded with a look of, "That's nice, dear." Now stay in recovery.
WAIT! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND! MY BRAIN IS REALLY CLICKING! ASK ME ANYTHING! MEMORIES? CLEAR THOUGHT CONNECTIONS? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?
Sorry to scream, but those thoughts raced through my mind post CCSVI. Toes wiggled during the procedure. Parts of my body were talking that had not communicated for years. Bladder better.
But My Brain!
I am not a genius, but I am known to be smart. However, the edge had dulled on my mental knife and I did not know it. I was more absent minded. Thoughts that used to zing were failing.
Mental Aerobics is for me quiz time. Not Jeopardy, rather just facts and figures my brain should know. I do recall one where I knew I was in deep trouble.
Who directed The Godfather. I knew his face, his daughter's face. But his name was absent. I had a major problem. I do not cheat and "google" it, rather I know it is in my brain. I want it out. Just by thinking.
CCSVI really sharpened me. I have played fantasy football and baseball for years. This season was my best in football over the past few seasons because I was thinking quicker. I made mistakes, but mistakes of aggression rather than lapse.
I constantly quiz and challenge myself about everything to stay sharp. Not all memories are as easy. I facebooked friends trying to remember a bar we used to hang out at when we were younger and more attractive. I can still find it, but the name was not coming to me. That is a 20 year old memory. My friends sent me a quick, correct response.
Has anyone else had this reaction? And the baffled looks as you try to explain it to others.
