Denied Care in Canada

January, 14, 2011

It is unbelievable that Canadians are being forced to leave their Country for the treatment of a vascular malformation. My wife and thousands of other Canadians have left Canada for a simple Venoplasty procedure to restore blood drainage from their brain.

Venoplasty has been performed for many years on Kidney dialyses patents. http://www.genesishealth.com/services/dialysis/minimally-invasive-procedure.aspx

But if you have been given the label of MS you are denied this simple non-invasive procedure to restore your circulatory system.

Health Minster, Leona Aglukkaq, why are you letting this blatant refusal of treatment for Canadians who are suffering with CCSVI to continue? Those whom are suffering from improper blood flow deserve treatment NOW!!! When treating begins for this vascular obstruction, then the studies can start with looking at how it affects those with the label of MS.

Treat the cause not the symptom. The cause of restricted blood flow is malformed veins.

The treatment for malformed veins is a simple 45 minute non-invasive venoplasty procedure. Ms Leona Aglukkaq, it is past time for Canada to help its citizens with the label of MS who are being used as pawns by the MSSC and the neurological community.

My wife and thousands of other Canadians have gone abroad to have their venous system restored and in doing so many have had their MS symptoms diminish.

Ms Leona Aglukkaq, how can you sit by and let people die that have no other treatment options available to them? How can the government take advice from the neurological community and the MSSC on a vascular issue? Ms Aglukkaq, please step up and take charge of our failing health care system. There have been too many Moms, Dads, Sons and Daughters that have been denied a chance at life. Please, at the very least, allow this procedure on a compassionate basis.

Sincerely,

Lorin Powell
