It's a terrible reality to be faced with at any age.

At just 18 years old Beechy's Michelle Walsh was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  Walsh, now 37, was placed on a waiting list for treatments in Poland, Bulgaria and New York.

In July, Walsh travelled to Sophia, Bulgaria for her first treatment, and since then has been to California for follow-up treatments.  She says since that first treatment, she feels great, and has had clinical proof from her MS neurologist in Edmonton that the treatment had clinically stabilized her secondary progressive MS. She added that since she underwent her treatments she is much less fatigued, and in less pain.

Walsh says the procedures were fairly routine, and well worth it, but feels it is unacceptable that it is still not offered in our country, and says that she talked with lupus patients that have been tested and treated in Saskatoon for the exact same blockages in their veins that Walsh was treated for in Bulgaria.

Walsh adds she's proud that she is living proof this treatment works, and she recommends it to anyone with MS seeking treatment.

Ken Audette talked with Michelle Walsh about her experience with the MS treatment.
