New treatment for Multiple Sklerosis (MS)
Non invasive screening program and minimally invasive treatment in CCSVI Center Frankfurt / Germany Multiple sklerosis has been considered for many years to be an autoimmune disease, but recent research from Italy points out a possible new cause.
Dr. Paolo Zamboni, a vascular surgeon from Ferrara, in a recently published study of patients with MS demonstrated that: narrowing (stenosis) in veins that return the blood from the head to the heart, are probably responsible as well for the development as for the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. This disease is known as "CCSVI" (chronic-cerebro-spinal-venous insuffency).
The CCSVI-Center Frankfurt in collaboration with the Boston University School of Medicine has designed a non invasive CCSVI screening program for MS patients, to demonstrate stenose in the venous systems of the head, neck and abdomen reliably.
This stenosis then are widened with minimally invasive procedure by balloon dilatation or stenting.
