Pretty early spring day in Louisiana.  As I am getting over a head cold, I have been weaker and taking time to get a bit stronger.  A night of insomnia brought on by coughing had not helped recovery.

What does this have to do with CCSVI?  The procedure may have really helped me prevent a dog bite to a friend.  When I worked, I often got FEDEX deliveries and the driver and I became friends.  My Sony Walkman IPOD wannabe got shipped off last week, and my friend happened to show up as I was doing too much.

Dog needed to be walked.

Get the mail.

Get the garbage can.

The dog, Elizabeth, is about 30 pounds of cock-a-poo rescue dog who has problems with mailmen.

My friend shows up to give me a package that weighs less than a pound.  Elizabeth tries to attack.

Gymnastics?

The dog wraps herself around the garbage can to attack my friend.  The FEDEX box goes flying.  I hold on to the trash can for dear life.  I know that Elizabeth will bite my friend.  She is unpredictable and now all problems are hitting the fan.

Pre-CCSVI I would not have attempted any of these chores at the same time.  Mailbox and garbage are at the same area, but I would have needed a walker or cane.  Dog walk would have to have been another trip.  Exercise is good, but nice to knock out several chores simultaniously.  Thank you CCSVI.

The dog lunged at my friend was very cool with the dog's actions.  Thank goodness.  The leash wrapped around the can and I danced with the dog, garbage can and mail and box.

The best part was that I remained vertical.  Several actions yanking at me and previously I would have been scratched up on the ground trying to retain dignity.  No crying, just foul language.

Instead, I remained upright and finished business.  Walked back to the house, got mail into house, took care of dog.

Little daily events that lead to a deep appreciation of an "Experimental Procedure" that helps me live a better daily life.

I thank God daily for getting this procedure done before I declined one more day.
