Trenton - William Daniel “Bill” Peart, age 56, Logan Road, Trenton, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Palliative Care at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Antigonish, he was the son of the late William and Edith (MacNeill) Peart. He was a teacher in the OPP program at NRHS in Alma, teaching auto care and energy. During his years of teaching, he had great respect for his students and took pride in all of their accomplishments. In earlier years, Bill was a front end specialist working at Firestone, Westway Pontiac and Goodyear. Bill loved his faithful companions, both his Duck Tollers, Pulis and his beloved cat Butchie. He loved going to dog shows and especially showing Monty, Carey and Beau to High in Trials and getting championship titles on them and others. His one goal was to raise good healthy puppies and find the best homes available for them. He loved his John Deere tractor, all his tools and kitchen gadgets and his coconut cream pies. He was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and Associate Member of the Michelin Retirees. He is survived by his wife Donna Lee (Morton) Peart; chosen daughters: Jodi Coolen, New Glasgow; Holly Sponagle, Antigonish; Godchild Lani Coolen; sisters: Bonnie Peart, Guysborough; Velvet Peart, Truro; Karen Hersey, Halifax; Kailyn Peart, Fredericton; aunt and Godmother Dolores MacNeill O’Connor; uncles: Lawrence (Linda) MacNeill, Trenton; Edward (Lynn) MacNeill, Riverview, NB; Douglas (Pat) MacNeill, Sarnia, ON; Billy (Georgette) MacNeill, Orleans, ON; mother-in-law: Vivian Morton, Shiretown Nursing Home; father-in-law: David Morton, Trenton; sister-in-law: Heather (Joe) Terris; brothers-in-law: Allen (Judy) Morton; Steve (Mary) Morton; Glenn (Janet) Morton; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by uncles Donnie, Robert and Wallace. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 am Tuesday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Abercrombie Cemetery.
