This group seemed to be a good place for this as it is related to CCSVI for those who are interested. I envision a day when they will be able to do this with the valves in our neck, but the larger point I am making is that there is resistance and not always for the appropriate reasons. Hi all, I had a heart attack in 2002 and had 2 stents put in. It was mild and more likely a secondary problem caused by inactivity due to ms [multiple sclerosis] I am on meds and will update the info later on but wanted to share what I learned this week from my cardiologist. We were talking about a new procedure I had for my ms and how it was working for me but there was some resistance to it because of 'old school' thinking. He related something similar in the heart field where surgeons are resisting the new heart valves that can be placed in a patients heart via catheter. The 'cut you open' folks do not want to loose the "lucrative business" [direct quote from my doctor] so they are digging their heels in. The new valves are working and I am enclosing a link for your information. http://my.clevelandclinic.org/heart/percutaneous/percutaneousvalve.aspx
