Dear, Leona Aglukkaq, Dr. Alain Beaudet, Yves Savoie and Provincial Health Ministers;

On Wednesday the 29th 2011 it was announced that Canada would be starting clinical trials in treating CCSVI. I started to cry thinking could the wait for those seeking treatment for this venous abnormality finally be over? Could Canadians with the label of MS finally get medical treatment that has been denied to them because they have MS? Will Canadians that have had a venoplasty procedure abroad finally be entitled to after care by Canadian doctors if needed?

Leona Aglukkaq and Dr. Alain Beaudet, I am glad that you have come to the conclusion that CCSVI and Its links to MS need to be investigated. Dr. Beaudet I appreciate the challenging position in which you have been placed. Yes, some doctors are saying these studies are coming too quick and anyone that is affected by MS is saying not quickly enough. Well Dr. Beaudet, I am among those saying Canada needs to start treating now. If my beautiful wife had not had the procedure 10 months ago I could not even imagine what condition she would be in today. I realize that studies in Canada need to be done but those who are suffering from MS symptoms can not wait.

I can not even guess how long the wait list will be for the venoplasty procedure when Canada finally approves it.

How can you expect Canadians to wait 5 or more years for a procedure that takes 45 minutes to perform when it could possibly give them a chance at halting or reversing their MS symptoms?

Again, I realize that a study needs to be done. We need to have a study coinciding with ongoing treatment.

I can guarantee that you would have at least 20,000 people sign up in the first week of the study being offered.

Canadians are going to continue to seek treatment outside of Canada until it is offered here.

I ask of you, Leona Aglukkaq, Dr. Alain Beaudet, Yves Savoie and Provincial Health Ministers at the very least please offer the procedure on a  compassionate basis. Mr. Savoie I expect that you will be leading the charge for treatment on a compassionate basis as you are our advocate!

Sincerely, should we book our venoplasty appointment now for 2018?

We can not wait years for Canada to do its own studies. Time is brain and those suffering from CCSVI are running out of time. The studies can be done while performing the procedure on those whom need it most. Over thirteen thousand people world wide have had a venoplasty procedure to correct their venous abnormalities. The successes by far out weigh what I like to call active learning challenges. Interventional radiologists who have preformed these thousands of procedures have shared their knowledge and successes.

Why should Canada reinvent the wheel?

Can we not work with the rest of the world and prefect it?
