Well, I tried the spiritual therapy that has always worked before.  It helped, but the effects were transitory.  I did a partial Wahls diet (can't eat that much) and every supplement and hormone therapy I could research.   Sadly I progressed to where I needed a wheelchair to go anywhere past the car, and furnture walking within the house, in 5 months.   I needed someone's arm to go through indoor open spaces.  I couldn't do much but lay down and sit down (including speaking and writing), and even then I would get tired out easily.  Right side weak.  Wriing, speaking and walking issues.  I didn't even use the phone much.  Not much of a future.  I reviewed my options again.

Stem cell therapy done without killing off the immune system first looked like a chance I could take.   It costs  a little more than CCSVI treatment, but what retirement am I saving for?  Spend the money and take a chance, I decided. There is no chance right now that I will grow old, and I am retired.   Some places want $25,000, but you can get it for around $8-9,000.

There are several types of stem cells.  Your own, that they harvest from your bone marrow or fat (adipose tissue).  These they isolate, add growth factors, and put back into you.  Great results for many people.  No chance of rejection.  Called adult stem cells, no ethical issues.  But the same age you are.  Lots of clinics in many countries, even now in the US.

Donor cells from umbilical cord blood.  The advantage being, they are younger and from a healthy source.  But if donor has any kind of health issues including STD'd they can be transferred, by blood or by passage through the birth canal.

I ended up getting donor cells from placenta.  No ethical issues, adult donor yet cells only 9 months old (compared to mine which are almost 50 and from a sick donor).  Only used from C-section births, so no passage down birth canal, and screened for health issues.

I went and had it done in Mexico.  We stayed in Texas, at the Embassy Suites.  Crossed the border for the procedure.  The doctor was great.  www.dromargonzalez.com

It has been just under a week since I had the procedure.   I can raise my leg higher (so I can get into the truck with out having to lift my leg with my hands), and I have better balance so I don't have to hold on so much.   Also I haven't had air hunger once since then, and only once light choking. Less of a limp. Bettter leg stregth.  I do have good days and not so good ones, if I have a headache I have balance and core strength issues as well.  That has happened twice now.  The day after and yesterday.  The day after I had a headache, slight double vision (which I had never had before) and bladder issues of non-emptying, worse than previous.  But these went away, the headache by next day and bladder issues after I got home and drank my normal amount of water.   Yesterday again the headache and related issues.  I think my brain is adjusting to the new influx of cells.

My voice is stronger and I can stand on my toes better.  My toes no longer curl under, and my foot doesn't drop so I don't trip when I'm tired.

Right after the procedure, I could swivel  my right ankle again, from previously not being able to.  Still can.  I will exercise as much as I can to get more function. The benefits come over the following months.   I would like to be able to walk around in a destination (store, exhibit, whatever).  Heck, I'd like to drive.  Not sure if that's in the cards or not, but it's fun to speculate.

I will have another treatment in 6 months or so.

As far as I am concerned, it was a good thing to do.   I have a future now.
