CCSVI Alberta shares the frustration and exasperation of Dr. Kirsty Duncan, MP. Dr. Duncan has followed the science behind CCSVI, attended the international conferences, made every effort to assist the Minister of Health, and passionately advocated in parliament on behalf of chronically ill persons with neurodegenerative conditions. Her efforts have been consistently ignored or undermined by the Minister of Health and her staff.

WireService.ca Press Release - 07/06/12 - The CCSVI Society of Alberta (CCSVI Alberta) commends Anne Kingston for her excellent expose' of the bungling of the CCSVI (Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency) issue by Health Canada and the Canadian Institute of Health Research. http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/06/25/the-silent-treatment-how-canada-has-failed-ms-sufferers/ News outlets are encouraged to use Ms. Kingston's well researched and articulate story as background. This story has more to do with politics and social justice than it does about health:

"The double standard for approval of MS drugs with potentially fatal side effects and CCSVI treatment; which is simply a new application for venous angioplasty is scandalous. The federal health ministry is doing more harm than good when it comes to the issue of CCSVI. The health ministry is playing politics while some very sick Canadians fight for their lives" said Warren Stefanuk, President of CCSVI Alberta - Edmonton.
