I got the latest figures regarding Tysabri induced PML in my inbox today, not good news I'm afraid... I know that there are people out there who are taking this drug and I don't want to alarm people unduly, but we must be aware of the dangers of the drugs some of us are advised to take.

Bad News again:

As of November 1, 2012, there have been 302 confirmed cases of PML worldwide (107 in the US). 66 of 302 (22%) of the patients with PML have died.

Until September 30, 2012, approximately 108,300 patients have received natalizumab in the post-marketing setting worldwide.

It was suggested about a year ago, that the number of people dying from PML should slow down after the JCV test was introduced, but I am not noticing any slow down at the moment.
