In June a young man in Ontario went for CCSVI angioplasty treatment in Costa Rica, I was told. After his treatment, it sounds like his symptoms were improving each day and he was able to walk more. He received his miracle.

This is a heart warming story repeated over and over, as so many return to Canada with a 2nd chance at life.

But last month he started to have complications with a stent. He was denied help by Doctors. This young man then went to an Ontario hospital, but they said: ”You have MS. Go home there is nothing we can do for you.”  They basically told him to go home and wait.

There are no words to explain how I feel when I hear this. This is completely disgusting. It’s criminal.

Now he was in serious medical trouble. He was running out of options.

The community reached out to him again and raised money. They sold countless bracelets, and got him back to Costa Rica for follow up care, to have this blood clot dealt with. The lack of compassionate care in Canada forced too many delays, and this complication had escalated.

One of his friends told me: “He did not let many people even know about his first surgery. He was so excited after he took his first 4 steps. He was like a little boy showing me how he could swing his legs and move his toes. He also had gotten back the use of his right hand. Later he could even walk 14 meters.”

All he wanted was a 2nd chance. Hope for the future. Something anyone would want.

He received help from so many caring individuals in his community. Today so many hearts in St. Catharines are broken.

Sadly he just passed away. He ran out of precious time, trying to save his life.

This young man was 34. Three years ago he was a healthy man working as an Electrician. Full of life.

I’m not really sure what he next step is? But this story must be told, and those who continue to put up roadblocks must hear this message loud and clear. Those who deny hope and care, must be held accountable to Canadians from coast to coast.

He was robbed of hope by those in the Canadian medical system who should have reached out a caring hand.

The Canadian medical system put politics ahead of compassion. His 2nd chance at life was stolen from him, in the blink of an eye.

He will never see his son grow up because compassion was denied.
