What is Multiple Sclerosis?
If you haven't seen the recent documentary on Multiple Sclerosis aired on Australian's ABC television, we recommend it.

It can be viewed at the following link: http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/3572695.htm

It very interestingly links a bacteria that affects the vein walls (a common bacteria called Chlamydia Pneumoniae - a respiratory pathogen) and brings in the CCSVI puzzle to explain why people who have treatment for CCSVI may do better.

The common thread in all of this is the outright refusal of neurologists to consider either theory. They are just as dismissive of the bacterial theory as they are of the vascular theory.

Frankly, it's time to turn the page and look at other factors that affect the veins of MS patients.....maybe then we'll really find a cure for MS.

I'll finish with a quote from the Hubbard Foundation's Dr. David Hubbard: "Perhaps it is time for all of our organizations to sign a letter to the MS organizations calling for a shift in funding away from T cell studies and toward perfusion/drainage studies."
