CCSVI in Multiple Sclerosis
72 pwMS/CCSVI are treated with venoplasty at the University of Ljubljiana in Slovenia, and the procedure showed a beneficial effect in all treated. There were benefits in reduced fatigue (measured by the FSS and MFIS scales) and better cognitive health and emotional stability (MFIS and Qol) as well as better bladder function (OAB-V8 and Qol) These measurements were taken at 3, 6 and 12 months. "The relationship between CCSVI and hypoperfusion was demonstrated. The role of better cerebrospinal fluid flow after vascular procedure is discussed." Note the scales used to measure improvements after treatment are different that EDSS...reduced fatigue, better cognition, better bladder control are all important...but NOT addressed with EDSS.
