If you're like me, knowing changes in your diet and/or supplement intake are making a difference to your neurovascular health can be tricky. The last thing you want to do is throw your money away on changes that don't work. Dr. Bernard Juurlink gave me some advice that may also be helpful to you: "I think it would be of interest if you kept track of your arterial pulsatility as you change diet, i.e., the difference in mm Hg between your diastolic blood pressure and your systolic blood pressure." If you notice changes, you know the change in your lifestyle (diet, supplements) are making a difference, even if you don't notice any changes in your health otherwise. Of course, I will need to ask Dr. Juurlink to describe what a narrowing or a widening of the difference between pressures mean! But first, start measuring!
