CCSVI in Multiple Sclerosis
Thanks to Nigel for this indepth look at cerebral circulation. It's a great paper! Blood flow to and from the brain is an incredibly complex process, which is only beginning to be illucidated. "Cranial compliance" is the study of interactions between blood, cerebral spinal fluid and heart beat-created pulsations inside the rigid skull. The brain requires a continual supply of oxygen and nutrients, and needs efficient waste removal. People with MS have slowed perfusion (blood flow thru the brain), which PRECEDES lesions and neuronal loss. This kind of study is the way forward. http://www.beckleyfoundation.org/pdf/Moskalenko_Monograph.pdfwww.beckleyfoundation.org
