Thanks to Marie for finding this story today.

The Vascular Specialists in the Lombardi region of Italy are repeating the "blinded" CCSVI COSMO doppler study---this time with trained vascular professionals.

link to Italian article

Here are the reasons these vascular specialists are repeating the test:

1. The COSMO study results were modified by three central readers, who threw out 90% of the positive CCSVI results in pwMS.

link

2. The study coordinator, Giancarlo Comi, blatantly violated a feature of clinical trials, in that he came out announcing negative results at ECTRIMS 2011, when more than 75% of the patients had yet to be tested.

3. The sonologists were not trained properly, which is why Dr. Zamboni stepped down from this trial in September 2010, when he saw that Comi would not comply with his doppler protocol training requirements.

The Lombardi region Vascular Specialists believe the only way to correct this travesty is to have ALL participants blindly retested.

The have included a standard form at the above Italian link, so that each person who was tested can fill it in and return to info@ccsvi-lombardia.org

Please share this with your CCSVI community--and know that those of us who want UNBIASED, INDEPENDENT research, without pharmaceutical involvement, must fight for honesty and transparency.
