Remember Dr. Dueck. . . he's on our side trying to get trials going. Mmmm not so much. DENIED. This is message I got from a doctor that works with him.

--------------------------

I had a long discussion with Andrew Dueck yesterday. He i...s being black balled at all the peer reviewed funding agencies by the neurologists. He is quite desperate, because he's put together a beautiful randomized study and they are continuously sabotaging him (despite the fact he has one of the most famous epidemeologists in the world as a co-investigator). He presented at St. Mikes last week, where some big Canadian expert on MS (?Occonor?), was there and essentially gave him short shrift.

How possible is it for all the disgruntled MS patients to raise the money for this study?

I told him I'd find out if there is enough financial gathering capacity out there by the disenfranchised patients to help fund the study. Unfortunately we're talking at least a million dollars. I'm sure Sandy Macdonald would support it.
