Zoey Bear
OK. I have now done 3 weeks taking 4-AP (Canada'a Ampyra) and I think that my walking is worse. I also have a lot of tremors that I didn't have before. I read about it and the whole faster walking with 'signals getting through to the nerves better' thing sounded good. At my last appointment with the neuro I rejected his last recommendation of Tysabri and asked for a prescription for 4-AP. He was happy to write it ( and asked "anything else?") then went straight to recommending Gilenya. Don't think that one sounds so good either... After 10 days of taking it I had a pretty nasty fall down the stairs. Thankfully I wasn't carrying my baby at the time! I have NEVER had a fall before the 4-AP. Maybe the MS is just advancing, but I would rather blame a new drug. Is anyone else having any luck with 4-AP? Please tell me it just takes a little time (from experience)- I read that 3 weeks is approximately how long the walking could take to improve. I'm really hoping not to have to go for round 2 of angioplasty. For those thinking about angioplasty this hope not to have to do it again isn't because it was difficult or painful. I would do it again in a heartbeat - it's just the financial issue. Thanks for any input.
