Since mid-June 2010, The Clinics of the Heart in Los Cabos, headed by Dr. Rafael Moguel who is one of Mexico’s leading Interventional cardiologists and his team of specialists have successfully treated well over 550 patients suffering from all types of multiple sclerosis. Based on the Chronic Cerebral Spinal Venous Insufficiency or CCSVI hypothesis, the procedures have been deemed very successful since our primary objective is to delay or stop the progession of the disease, an overwhelming number of patients (91%+) have shown immediate as well as gradual meaningful signs of improvement in mobility, balance, sensitivity, hearing, vision, as well as cognitive symptoms. These initial CCSVI procedures were performed first utilizing compliant balloons and right and left jugular veins as well as the azygous vein were treated as described in the original “Zamboni” CCSVI protocol. As the learning curve leveled, non-compliant high pressure and cutting balloons were also utilized to treat the affected veins. Recently, and based as always on his cardiology training and experience, Dr. Moguel began utilizing drug eluting or medicated balloons created to prevent restenosis in arteries, it is Dr. Moguel’s belief that they will do the same in veins for MS CCSVI patients.

To facilitate the study of this possible method of restenosis prevention the Clinics of the Heart is accepting 10 MS CCSVI patients on a first come, first serve basis during September, 2011 to be treated using these drug eluting or medicated balloons. These patients will be treated using the conventional balloons as well as two medicated balloons, one in each jugular veins. Due to the proven high restenosis rate of CCSVI treated patients, the Clinics of the Heart has decided to test these medicated or drug eluting balloons in order to test their efficacy.

The cost of this CCSVI test treatment utilizing the medicated balloons will be the same as it has always been, $9,750.00USD

The treatment, known as the “liberation” is a ballooning angioplasty procedure of the jugular veins to restore blood flow by un-blocking them.

The Clinics of the Heart will accept all patients diagnosed with MS, as we are not a medical tourism company but a medical clinic interested in treating

every patient, documenting and publishing our findings within the International medical community.

Our scheduling proccess is rather simple and straight

forward as you only need to follow these very simple instructions:
