There should be a common fear in all patients regarding the use of all drugs, and especially for drugs designed as a treatment for MS. Drug use in healthcare is so common that every person knows someone who safely benefited from the use of a drug. For over century, many theories to explain what MS is, and even more debates over those various theories, have been presented, and/or publicized, and/or became an approved MS standard of care. With all the current amazing technological advances and all the progressive research done, MS has remained elusive.

How much measured safety can exist, if a proposed treatment is for a disease not yet understood? Currently, MS remains to be only well educated theories. Theories on the type of disease MS is, its causes, its triggers, and the more complex and elusive possible cures. Even the possible MS series of actions and/or reactions within a body presenting with and/or exposed to many different conditions and/or factors that may or may not be associated with MS. The infinite questions on MS are only outnumbered by its possible influences due to yet unknown. possible relevant factors. As a patient living with MS, the bottom line still remains solid today. How can a disease be treated safely when the disease is not yet understood?

As for all the current MS treatments, how can any reactions be understood or qualified for a disease which is not understood? How can MS be monitored, or measured, or even treated, with just those above listed existing unknowns? Today's best approved professional offers regarding MS still remains to be only well educated guesses on the safety concerns and/or expected outcomes from using any chemicals in the body.

It is a solid blessing when a drug is effective and successfully treats a health condition. Lives are better since these drugs are now available when needed. It remains best for caregivers and for patients to first thoroughly research and become well informed of all the possible options, as well as all the pros and cons. All medical researchers and professionals are just as human as the patients are. Patients need to be involved in their care and clearly understand the input from all providers. Patients need information from providers in order to make decisions on their healthcare. Providers need to fully explain all options available to patients in order to receive a patients' informed consent before taking act. With a patient as an active team member, a team effort can result with more effective success within mutually accepted limitations. It's a given that your health and safety is your priority, and more so than for someone else, as well as any businesses.

The amount of health related information available to patients is a miracle come true due to the internet, usually. There is also a large amount of dangerous, or wrong, or biased information also available. If patients could tell those differences, there would no longer be a need for any doctors, etc. Being sick and needing help, does not mean patients have less control of their life. If life is healthier with using drugs, go for it and live happy.
