I had the Liberation procedure in October 2010 in India and shortly after I returned home to Canada I had a clot for which I could not get ongoing treatment and which eventually landed itself in the stent placed in my IJV. After a five day emergency hospital stay in the U.S. I was placed on Lovenox injections and now remain on Coumadin. I would like to know what the status of that clot is now. Every once in a while I get a swelling in my left shoulder just as it happened before the clot was discovered. I've tried to have the stent/clot imaged numerous times in Canada with no success. Over the past few years whenever I've had this swelling in my neck I've increased my Coumadin for a few nights and all seems to settle down. But I'd rather not be guessing at this everytime. If anyone knows where I can get the stent/clot imaged safely I would really appreciate the info. My former neurologist told me I had subjected myself to being a human guinea pig I did not return for 'follow-up' with him giving his adversion to the procedure. I am seeing a new neurologist at the local MS clinic this week and I'm hopeful his mind is a little more open and that he will write the requisition for this imaging. But if anyone knows where I can get this done, and where I can a requisition to get this done I would appreciate the info.
