Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has lasting implications on brain health. As Dr. Nedergaard explained to me last week, TBI changes the ability of the glial cells and the glymphatic system to cleanse the brain. The cleansing process is slowed down and metabolites, proteins and inflammation are increased. TBI has been linked to ALS, MS, Parkinson's, dementia, Alzheimer's and CTE.
