via Sandro Rasman - "Almost all studies that exclude a correlation between CCSVI and MS were carried out by neurological centers....- Most of the authors of these studies also have substantial conflicts of interest because of their relationships with pharmaceutical companies..."

The Italian MS Society (AISM) continues to present around Italy in the presence of famous neurologists away the results of his epidemiological study CoSMo, according to which there is no correlation between CCSVI (chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency), discovered in 2007 by Dr. Paolo Zamboni, and multiple sclerosis (MS), severely debilitating disease that affects 63,000 Italians and for which unfortunately we don't yet know the causes or definitive therapy, despite the huge resources invested in research especially in the rich pharmaceutical sector.
Given that the CoSMo study has not yet been published in any scientific journal (very strange ...) we examined the epidemiological studies published to date and in particular those who like CoSMo didn't find any significant correlation between CCSVI and MS.
After we have gathered some data to this file (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_Ed_wxZvab3a0hrazNoenA4VVE/edit?usp=sharing) we found that:
- Almost all studies that exclude a correlation between CCSVI and MS were carried out by neurological centers, in particular, the Duplex examination was performed by neurosonologists, who never previously dealt with extracranial veins like jugular veins but only arteries and didn't sustain any training on CCSVI in authorized centers (except for BNAC). In practice, it is self-taught CCSVI.
- Most of the authors of these studies also have substantial conflicts of interest because of their relationships with pharmaceutical companies some of which have been declared as required and in part even not. In some cases, however, thanks to the Internet we have discovered.
Do they seem reliable studies, to trust?
