They know the gig is up. MS is a disease of neurodegeneration, or a progressive death of neurons. This is why you can block the immune cells and inflammation with a whole host of disease modifying drugs, but still not stop the MS brain from atrophying, or disability for continuing. So, drug companies are scrambling to find "druggable targets" they can develop and sell you, to provide "neuroprotection." Whether it's a generic blood pressure medicine or an antihistamine or high doses of vitamin B (biotin)....you won't need to wait. There are things you can do today, which are scientifically proven to be neuroprotective for the MS brain. More to come.

"Multiple sclerosis as the most common inflammatory demyelinating disease in Western countries, major therapeutic success has been achieved with regard to strategies targeting immunological master switches. These approaches effectively reduce inflammatory disease activity but fail to address ongoing neurodegeneration or disturbed regeneration. However, intense research efforts investigating molecular mechanisms of disease have identified 'druggable' targets for prevention of inflammatory neurodegeneration and disturbed regeneration.
