CCSVI in Multiple Sclerosis
MS and stroke have much in common. Ischemia, hypoperfusion (low flow), a break in the blood brain barrier and immune activation. And the symptoms are often very similar. Main difference? Doctors look at arteries which deliver blood to the brain for blockage, which is how 90% of strokes occur. They simply don't consider the veins that drain the brain. This needs to change. Multiple sclerosis and stroke may seem like they don’t have much in common, but they both affect the brain and the nervous system, so they have a lot more in common than you think.
