The Italian press acknowledges that Professor Zamboni published on the exact same thing which London researchers "discover" 10 years later. Both MS and venous disease cause a breakdown of red blood cells, which releases damaging hemoglobin. People with MS and venous disease have higher levels of circulating hemoglobin. He was right, and he continues to be right. The vascular connection to MS is real.

"Professor Paolo Zamboni, from the University of Ferrara, in 2006 first identified the similarities between an impaired venous drainage of the lower limbs and multiple sclerosis in his publication "The Big Idea." Chronic venous insufficiency can cause a breakdown of red blood cells, resulting in an increase of free hemoglobin levels. Exactly what the London researchers have now seen 10 years later." http://www.estense.com/?p=590008
