I was recently informed that the MS Society Quebec Division has claimed that the MS Hope Tour is mainly for "selling our products". This is a very strange statement given we have no products to sell. In fact at presentations we were asked if people could donate to the Direct-MS charity and we replied, as we always do, that we wanted people spending their money on good food and supplements rather than contributing to Direct-MS.
I would also note that ,unlike most MS Society events which have a fee attached to them, attendance and all literature at the MS Hope Tour was completely free of charge. We even covered parking costs.
I am sure anyone who attended an MS Hope presentation has no doubt that our only goal is to provide important information which neurologists and the MS Society (including the Quebec Division) are NOT providing to persons with MS. If the MS Society would only put the needs of persons with MS above all else, and cease their conflict of interest, financial ties to the pharmaceutical industry, there would be no need for an MS Hope Tour.
