The latest MS gray matter study, which looked at brain atrophy over 10 years and was conducted by Zivadinov and team, shows that loss of deep gray matter brain tissue is tied to MS progression and disability. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5684496/ We've known this for awhile, and this new study adds more information in the areas of the brain affected. Preventing loss of gray matter, also known as "neuroprotection" is something which is being studied. There are things you can do today to maintain your gray matter structures. Your gray matter matters!!!
