CCSVI Alliance is looking forward to hosting this satellite symposia at the Society of Interventional Radiology conference.  We'd hope you can attend!

We are pleased to announce that Michael Dake, MD will once again moderate this informative session.  Dr. Meredith Englander, study investigator working with Dr. Gary Siskin will open the evening with a presentation explaining CCSVI and treatment observations;  Dr. Salvatore Sclafani will discuss reasons for varied outcomes in CCSVI treatment; and Dr. Scott Rosa will introduce his study observations on obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid and venous flow due to upper cervical mis-alignment.  The speakers will be joined by other luminaries, including Dr. Bulent Arslan, in a discussion led by Dr. Dake.

Chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) has attracted global attention for its potential correlation to MS and other neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. For more information about the relation of CCSVI to other neurological diseases, click here. CCSVI is a clinical condition resulting from impaired blood flow from the brain and spine to the rest of the body. Current observational studies are attributing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) maldistribution as a component to the dysfunctional arterial / venous system. It has been hypothesized that restriction of blood flow and CSF may contribute to brain tissue injury.

*This event is not considered part of the 2013 SIR Annual Scientific Meeting, as it is being planned and hosted by CCSVI Alliance.
