Tragic outcome to new pain relief drug trial in the news. One healthy participant is brain dead, 5 others hospitalized in Phase 1 clinical trial. The drug was a FAAH inhibitor called BIA 10-2474, created to boost anandamide which affects the brain's cannabinoid receptors, and eases pain and anxiety (other FAAH inhibitors are also being studied for MS) That's right.
