When you go to another country for treatment. What should you expect for CCSVI angioplasty treatment? What should you pay? What seems reasonable?

Within a days drive of Toronto you can go to several world-class sites in the USA. One of these sites charges $5,000 for Doppler, Venography with Angioplasty, and a follow-up Doppler the next day. Another site is $5,500 dollars for the same 3-day package.

Also, for Americans these treatments are covered by their insurance plans, because the treatment is safe and effective.

Traditionally other countries around the globe, offer many different kinds of medical procedures. They are thriving because their prices are from 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the exact same surgery in the USA. (see price charts below)

That is the case for every different medical treatment I could find, except for CCSVI. Pricing for CCSVI treatment is different. It’s completely opposite. For some reason, this simple angioplasty procedure is not following the discount trend I see for every other treatment. Something doesn’t add up?

The cost of the CCSVI treatment in Costa Rica, India, and Mexico should also be 1/3 to 1/4 the price of treatment in the USA. The cost of CCSVI treatment should be much lower than in American hospitals, just like it is for countless other procedures that range from cosmetic, laser eye surgery, varicose vein treatments, and hip replacements.

If you can get world-class treatment in the USA for $5,000 to $5,500, the cost of CCSVI treatment should be way less than $2,000 dollars in Costa Rica, India, or Mexico, based on other medical treatment data I see. Dr. Sandy McDonald said that CCSVI treatment would cost about $1,500 if it was practiced in Canada.

So please do your homework. Get a price breakdown of what the CCSVI treatment portion really costs. When I see prices ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 something doesn’t add up.

Simply put, if the actual CCSVI treatment is $2,000 and your cost in another country is about $15,000 on average, then you need to ask why it’s so high?

I understand that many packages include the hotel. But think about it! You can get amazing hotel package deals in these countries for $1,000 to $1,400 dollars a week.

I also know that some places offer physiotherapy for a few days after your liberation. I think that’s a wonderful service, but that should not add $10,000 to the price. Every modern hotel already has a gym, and I can’t see a personal physio session costing more than $25 to $50 dollars each day. So even at worst case, a week of physio should be no more than $175 to $350 extra.

When you see a CCSVI treatment package advertised at around $15,000 and the real price of the CCSVI treatment and hotel is $3,400 I hope alarm bells go off.

Even a complete knee or hip replacement surgery offered by every Medical Tourism company I looked at, appears to be less expensive than a simple 45-minute angioplasty treatment. Their CCSVI treatment pricing is not in line with the other services they offer.

Every other surgery offered by Medical Tourism companies costs far less than in the USA. Frankly if these companies are unwilling to offer treatment and hotel packages that are significantly less than in the USA, they should not be supported.
