Treatment can be performed within 3-5 workingdays after being diagnosed with CCSVI.

Treatments are performed by highly respected vascular surgeons in clinics with many years of experience in Angioplasty treatments. This CCSVI treatment is also known as the so

called “Liberation therapy”. All treatments are also part of an large

medical study. Goal hereby is to determine the correlation between CCSVI

and MS (Multiple Sclerosis).

The Liberation treatment at
Privatescan consists of a standard angioplasty procedure which by means

of a small balloon the constricted area of the vein is stretched open.

This treatment meanwhile has been carried out successfully in various

Privatescan centres in Germany and Belgium with an estimation of more

than 300 MS patients since May 2010.

In many cases the results
are spectacular with the classical MS symptoms, such as spasms, numbness

or loss of strength, having been drastically reduced. For MS patients

this can mean a great improvement in their quality of life.

CCSVI examinations and diagnosis.

To determine the presence of CCSVI you can plan an appointment at Privatescan as there is no waitinglist. Your diagnosis can take place in short period of just 2 - 3 weeks from the moment of making the appointment. Due to government regulations in

the Netherlands, Privatescan therefore uses its hypermodern diagnostic

centres in Germany and Belgium. Hereby the protocols of the Italian

professor Paolo Zamboni are a guiding principle and serve as a starting

point. Together with its radiologists, surgeons and our

equipment supplier, Privatescan has been able to further optimise the

existing protocols. In specific cases Privatescan introduces the CT scan

technology for diagnosis of CCSVI.

In all the examinations done by Privatescan the latest generation of diagnostic equipment are being used.

  • 3.0 tesla MRV scan (MRI Venography) using contrast agent. Done with latest SWI protocol (Dr. Haacke)

  • 4D Ultrasound / Doppler / Duplex (Dr. Zamboni)

  • 64 and 128 slice CT scanners using a ultra low dose röntgen protocols.

Privatescan operates with the best Radiologists who have the latest knowledge, trained in all the necessary protocols, and have much experience in diagnosing CCSVI.
