Multiple Sclerosis is a disease/condition/autoimmune disorder.

MS is not contagious.  But it sounds ominous.  I am not saying lie to strangers, but:

I tend to make a joke and say that I am "tragically hip."  I do not want to start the education issue.

What do you tell strangers who see you hobble or seem challenged in each of our individual ways?
