Dear government of Canada and members of Parliament,

By now you must have heard about the thousands of Canadians suffering from improper blood flow due to occluded jugular and azygos veins. This serious issue of improper blood drainage from the brain is being denied and ignored by doctors that have given their patents the diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis. As Canadians we deserve the right to a second opinion regarding the diagnoses of our medical condition.

On February 8th you will have a chance to meet and listen to three doctors that are knowledgeable about the venous system and what happens when blood drainage is obstructed from the brain. CCSVI (Chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency) is a venous issue that needs to be treated with a venoplasty procedure by interventional radiologists. Why is the government still taking direction from the MSSC (Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada) and neurologists?  My wife and thousands of other Canadians just want proper blood flow restored. If this simple 45 minute procedure happens to alleviate MS symptoms, then the neurologists can be involved with assessing improvements.

People with the label of MS should never have been denied treatment for CCSVI in Canada. The United States has been treating those with CCSVI for over a year as improper blood drainage from the brain is a serious health issue. It is past time for Canada to act in regards to CCSVI. We need to be treated for this venous abnormality now before more damage occurs.   Toxins will continue to accumulate in our brains and will cause our immune system to attack healthy brain tissue.

My wife had the procedure in San Diego on September 14th 2010 and is still making daily gains. I can not express how disgusted I am with how our health care system is run by a select few all having a blatant conflict of interest in regards to allowing the treatment of CCSVI to move forward. Our medical system needs a big overhaul with a wider variety of doctors in different fields making the decisions about the health of this Country’s citizens.

On February 8th I hope you are there to listen to these very open minded and knowledgeable doctors.

Sincerely

Lorin Powell
