carotid stents are succesfully used for certain ARTERIAL narrowings where the long term patency seems good.however the trouble with ccsvi is VEIN narrowing and in my practice vein stentsdo not stay open as long as in similar sized arteries. none the less i am trying to launch a ccsvi study here at UAB but am so far swimming upstream. pray for us that we can get approval.  ed underwood  intervention radiology UAB school of medicine  birmingham, al.
