The Beyond MS Association of Canada presents the:

Seventy five thousand Canadians are afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis. Due to associated health complications four hundred people with MS die every year. The suicide rate is seven times the national average. There is obviously an urgent need for an effective MS treatment.

In 2008 a Italian Vascular surgeon came up with the biggest MS break-through in in the last 50 years! In a study of 65 MS patients he discovered that 90% of the participants had severe blockages in the veins draining their necks and brains. He called this CCSVI. Then by performing a simple angioplasty procedure he noticed improvements in 75% of the participants. These improvements were often dramatic.

To date more than 12,000 people worldwide have had this procedure done successfully. However. presently Canadians have to leave the country at the cost of up to $20,000 to obtain this treatment.

The Beyond MS Association hopes to help make this procedure available to all Canadians with MS, by traveling from St. John's to Victoria to fund-raise, and raise awareness and educate Canadians of the need for CCSVI treatment in Canada now.
