Multiple Sclerosis patients across the Peace Region will want to make a note of June 18th.

That's when the CCSVI Society of Grande Prairie is hosting a one day conference at the Holiday Inn and Suites in the city's west end, looking at the various treatment options for M-S.

Guest presenters are anaesthesiologist and M-S patient Dr. Bill Code, and vascular surgeon Dr. Joseph Hewett from California.

Local CCSVI society chair Debbie Golden says the free conference is important for not only M-S patients, but also for their caregivers and loved ones.

Dr. Hewett will also provide free, private consultations with M-S patients before or after the conference.

These have to be pre-booked though by calling Golden at (780)539-6983.

CCSVI - or Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency, is a form of M-S treatment not currently offered in Canada.
